We made it to Colorado, picked up our rental car and got to the Ranch. The answer is....
Chrysler 300. Loaded with gold wheels, leather, and uconnect. No V8 sadly and the V6 is kind of pitiful. Oh well it’s comfy and better then the Sentra we were supposed to get!

I guess Taurus! Seems sorta close-ish to me.

Is it actually slow? I’ve heard even the V6 is pretty quick in this thing, especially considering how much it weighs.

It’s okay but my ‘98 LS400 feels faster.this thing is just kind of a dog

The Pentastar V6s will go but they just need a bit more power to really be good.

Boss. Time to go murder people or bet on a cock fight.
Legit

Lower trim cars have become a million times better equipped than they used to. That 300 looks better, to me, than the older 300 lower optioned Hemis.
‘member when V6 Camaros and Mustangs came with hubcaps? I ‘member.

I won. I said none of those

Don’t forget you are down about 15-20% of hp at altitude. Everything feels slower up here because it is slower.

300S has 40 more hp and 3 more gears over your lexus, not to mention more than 150k+ less miles on it, so I’m calling bullshit on it being slower.
Lexus does many many things right, but goddamn all of their cars feel gutless as shit.

It’s not slow. You can come drive mine whenever you want.

“Pitiful”
CHILD BOO! That car has 300hp, 260lbs-ft of torque, and 8 goddamn gears. People just wanna find a reason to hate on mopars smdh.

It might not be as fast but the power delivery is much more satisfying and immediate in the Lexus. Almost felt like I couldn’t pass safely.

Oh boo. I put 1k miles, mostly highway, a week on mine and it has NO trouble passing anything.

It was 2 lane road passing, not highway. On the highway it was totally fine. I feel it rides real nice too.overall very impressed. I would love the V8 though

I think the 8 gears was part of my problem. I couldn’t find the right gears when passing.

Love those wheels - roughly where is the Ranch? My sister-in-law’s family used to have an incredible place north of Wolcott that they were generous enough to let us use several times.

Just north of Colorado Springs. It’s beautiful out here

I’ve passed things on 2 lane roads in a Chevy Spark. That had enough juice for passing. I sure hope a 300 does too at any trim level lol.

Hmm interesting, I wonder if its just the transmission and how the car is geared. My Miata has no power ever but its geared such that it gives you all its got at all times. Has made plenty of cars with 100 more HP feel slow.

I think part of it is the 8 speed. It has to hunt a lot

damn fuel economy trying to ruin everything. Like yeah I get it from an environmental perspective, but shit I never care about MPGs when it comes to money. Id rather have more smiles per gallon!

Jealous! Have a great time.

That’s like my rental car du jour. I’m pretty happy with that car typically.

I’m guessing part of the problem is that he’s in Colorado, where the air is thinner. I’m guessing the car is already producing a good 30% less power due to the altitude.

That’s a point I hadn’t considered.

the 300 needs a turbo’d 4cyl motor

Hahaha maybe.
